Farmhouse lodgings

The wall and window of a cow shed on the farm where we stayed. Apples piled high in red and green for cider making and perhaps for working love spells.

We stayed not far from the famous fountain of Barenton where Yvain met the Lady of the Fountain and fought the Black Knight.

If you pour water from the spring upon the rocks of the fountain then a thunderstorm is summoned. Certainly the heavens opened as we trudged through mud and thorny thicket searching in vain for the fountain.

As we were told later. . the forest must keep some secrets so that you are sure to return.
